I believe testimonies are the unwritten, living Word of God in people, because our God is ALIVE and ever working in our lives. It is an honor to share this testimony with you, lovingly written by Gerda. Thank you Gerda for your boldness in Christ and your bravery to stand up and share a piece of your life and inviting us to share your Spiritual Leap.

A couple of weeks ago we had a slumber party at our house, with two of my daughter’s cousins who came to visit. The whole evening went according to plan…until bedtime! The kids had a good night’s sleep, but this mommy not at all. Because you see, with three toddlers and a baby in the house, who all had their own demands during the night, I ended with three hours sleep at the most. My sleep disruptions varied from normal things like going to the bathroom, to more dramatic things like nightmares, to absolute unnecessary things like the camp mattress that decided to deflate! I was totally sleep deprived by the time the sun decided to rise over a brand new day. Luckily there is a real easy solution to physical tiredness, you just catch up on another day. Because a good night’s rest promise to leave you fresh and ready for the new day.
Lately it seems like the “bad news” just escalates and grows to spread like a malicious incurable cancer. I want to clamp my hands over my ears and run away when I hear the words “Have you heard...?” I try not to read the newspaper headlines paraded on lamp poles when I drive past. I feel like those three little monkeys: See no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil.
One day long ago, there was a young shepherd boy, who came from a very ordinary family. He was the youngest of eight sons, and they stayed on the one side of the valley. His eldest three brothers reported for duty when the land went into war.
Yesterday was a very disappointing day for me. I received the opportunity to do work for a well-known company, and as any other person in business would do, I went into performance mode and really tried my best to do work beyond expectation. After an exhausting week of sending samples back and forth, receiving the go ahead for the work and mailing the final proof for sign off, they came back yesterday telling me that they prefer the initial raw samples I e-mailed them?!! It is hard to imagine how many thoughts went through my head simultaneously when I read the e-mail!
