“As they were sailing, Jesus fell asleep. Suddenly a strong wind blew down the lake, and the boat began to fill with water, so that they were all in great danger. The disciples went to Jesus and woke Him up, saying ‘Master, Master! We are about to die!’ Jesus got up and gave an order to the wind and the stormy water; they died down, and there was a great calm.” – Luke 8:23-24
I’m sure we can all identify with danger, difficult situations, and drowning conditions? And we have all faced situations where one moment life was treating us just right and everything was smooth sailing, and the next moment a storm hits, and we become distracted and worried! But we need to act like the disciples, and not wait to first sink before we seek help. They immediately turned their attention to Jesus, and asked for help! Because it is not about me, but all about God’s unlimited power and authority.
Prayer: Abba Father, thank you for accepting me just as I am. Sometimes life swallows me like a tornado, and then spits me out on the other side in a muddy puddle. But no matter the circumstances, if I look up I can see You like a ray of sun coming through the clouds, calming the storms of my life. Thank you Father, for always being there. Thank you for using my mess, to become a message of hope and faith to the people around me. Amen
