Matthew 16:21-25 “From that time on Jesus began to say plainly to his disciples, ‘I must go to Jerusalem and suffer much from the elders, the chief priests, and the teachers of the Law. I will be put to death, but three days later I will be raised to life.’ Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him ‘God forbid it, Lord!’ he said. ‘That must never happen to You!’. Jesus turned around and said to Peter, ‘Get away from me, Satan! You are an obstacle in My way, because these thoughts of yours don’t come from God, but from human nature.” |
Have you ever had a conversation in your head where you wondered if it is a Godly thought, or just your own thought? I’m sure we all have it sometimes! Peter even made the mistake to think that he is protecting Jesus, while he was actually just about to hinder the salvation plan. If you are ever unsure about your thought, pray about it. Ask God to reveal to you if it is your own thought or His thoughts. Then wait before you do anything, until you get clarity on how should continue. Remember: Practice makes perfect!
Prayer: Pray to God for clarity on a current situation in your life that you are not sure how you should handle it. And ask Him to fill your thoughts with His thoughts, and to give you the assurance that it is within His will, and not just within your own comfort zone.
Spiritual growth: Be all battle with relationships somewhere in our lives (it may be marital, friends, family, etc). I am even willing to say that we battle to such an extent that I think there is always one relationship at any given point that we don’t know what to do and how to handle it! Take the bold step today to call or sms that person, and say something nice! And don’t allow your own thoughts to stop you from doing this. God is all about relationships, so He will always stand by you and guide you to do the right thing if you pray about it.
