“Once again Jonathan made David promise to love him, for Jonathan loved David as much as he loved himself.” – 1 Samuel 20:17
I love my friends, every single one of them. Even though I don’t see them all very often, I still love and appreciate them. Why? Because they make me laugh, they supplement and balance my life, I relax when I am with them, they give me the opportunity to express myself and they give me new perspectives on life. The story about David and Jonathan is truly a very special story of a very pure and special friendship. We need to pray for wisdom to only build genuine, constructive friendships; instead of friendships that will ruin us (Proverbs 13:20).
Prayer: Dedicate your friends in prayer today. Ask for God’s blessing on each and every friendship.
Journal entry: Write down two (or more) reasons you love your friends, and the name of at least one friend that you know you always laugh with. (Why not make a coffee date with this friend – it is worth it!)
