This is why I love "Me Time"
“Take my yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” – Matthew 11:29
As women, we always put someone else or something else first, and we tend to neglect our own personal time. We even feel guilty if we take a well-deserved coffee break. Sadly, we often don’t even find enough time in a day to read God’s Word uninterrupted. God invites us to get to know Him on a personal level, and in return He offers us rest for our souls. But you will only be able to enjoy, appreciate and benefit from it, if you consciously set time aside for you to be alone. Remember, you can’t be everything to everyone! Become selective on how you spend your time, and fit in some ‘me time’.
Prayer: Take God up on His offer to give you rest for your soul. Make a verbal commitment to consciously set some time aside each day, to relax and enjoy the presence of our Creator.
Journal entry: Make a wish list of things you would like to do in the next six months (things for your house, yourself, your family). Pray about them, and make a commitment to start with your list. You deserve to do some things for yourself, all by yourself!
