Verse: Genesis 4:8 “Now Cain talked with Able his brother, and it came to pass, when they are in the field, that Cain rose up against Able his brother and killed him” Even though there is no reference to Eve in this verse, I cannot help to think how her heart must have felt. Broken to a thousand pieces at the death of her son Able and the loss of her firstborn Cain, as well as the fact of being a victim to the first ever crime: murder. There are so many things in this one little verse to discuss, but I would like to lift out the following. Eve, the mother of all, lost both her children through one act of sin. She was a victim of it. But it did not stop her from moving forward. Later we read she was blessed with another son.
