My kids think I'm weird. They tell me all the time. (At least it's the "good" kind of weird, I think?) And even when my friends tell me I'm weird, I take it as a compliment. Why shouldn't I? I am at peace with who and what I am in Christ. I know that I was fearfully and wonderfully made by God for His purpose. And if there was a measure of weirdness in my creation, I'll embrace it.
You see, I think of it this way: God says in His word that we should live our life in such a way that others should see the difference and see Him through us. Even if that means we are a little weird. Not fitting in the "status-quo" of society is one of the biggest tell tales of a child of God. We don't do the "worldly" normal. Let's be honest, normal is not going to get you anywhere. All through the Bible we read of exciting events that will never fit into the "normal box".
God is an exciting God!!! Hallelujah!! He has bigger dreams for you than you could ever imagine. Just the way He made you. You don't need to change the core of your existence in order for God to use you or to love you. He changes you as you grow spiritually in Him. You become better and closer to your Creator. You are created, elected to be here. You are chosen to be where you are right now.
1 Peter 2:9 "But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;"
We are Gods own special people. We need to boldly stand up and say: "Use me God!" (Even if the rest of the world think you are weird...)
Shalom, shalom
