When I decided to make time to sit down and start writing ideas down for the "Hallo Time" devotionals, I just didn't get the time to do it! All these things started taking up my time and the more I tried to apply time management, trust me, I didn't manage. Throughout the running around and rushing to get things done and to get to everyone, I had to go stand still, breath and ask God to give me time.
God reminded me about Joshua and the miracle where God stopped time for His children: Israel. Joshua 10:13 "And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day." Because He loved His children and made a promise to them, He stopped time. In the whole process of writing the devotionals it felt like God stopped a few minutes for me so I can write. Those were truly precious seconds to me.
Time does not effect God. At all! He is not bound or governed by time. And so often we try to haste God to fulfill His promises to a time suitable to us. We don't understand: God fulfill His word. Always! His word will fulfill His intention and not return to Him void. When He intends! Your promises from Gods heart WILL come to pass. Hebrews 10:23 "Let us hold fast to confessions of our hope, for He who promised is faithful."
Managing time according to Gods word teaches us wisdom and patience. The more we apply Biblical time management to our lives, the more we find ourselves working towards the Kingdom of Heaven and not towards an "end time" in this world. Every second we dedicate to God is a second the enemy cannot steal.
It's easy to say: "Make time for God!" Let us rather pray and ask God to give us the time so we can be good stewards of it and use it for His good.
Shalom, Shalom
