Do you ever think of reasons to love? And do you ever go out of your way to find reasons to live, laugh and appreciate everything you have? And do you see and feel God, and do you live your faith with passion? “Glory ye in His holy Name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord.” – 1 Chronicles 16:10
And on the flip side of the coin, do you ever think of things you strongly dislike or at least wish you could change? For example, have you ever wished you could change your world, your life, your appearance, or your personality? “The thief comes only in order to steal, kill and destroy. I have come in order that you might have life, in abundance.” –John 10:10
How come depression and anxiety is at the order of the day? Everyone just accept it as the norm! I am sure if you browse the internet to find journals of past studies conducted on this subject, you will find hundreds of pages with all sorts of different reasons and answers. You will read about childhood pain and suffering, raw wounds trying to heal, failed forgiveness, hate, unsuccessful relationships, current pain and losses, unhappy and stressful employment situations, and the list goes on.
But I would like to give you a different perspective on this today – what if I told you that the enemy is using you as one of his chess pawns, and doing everything in his ability to steal your joy? And not to your benefit, but purely for his own selfish gain. Because without the enjoyment of everyday life, we lose our faith; and if you fall into disbelief, you become insecure. You start to doubt yourself, your abilities, and your relationships. So if the enemy manages to succeed in his quest, your soul becomes depressed, and you have this constant emotion of sadness, mostly unexplained.
“But may all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; may those who long for Your saving help always say, The Lord is great!"– Psalm 40:16
We need to find reasons to live and to love. We need to seek the good in others. We need to intentionally change our thought processes, to be able to identify the great hand of our loving Father in everything around us. Because if we rely on the negativity the media bombards us with, you might find yourself in a very pessimistic state of mind. The questions you need to ask yourself, is (1) Can you actually change the world you live in? Probably not. (2) But can you change your attitude towards the world you live in? Absolutely yes! “Surely there is a future, and your hope will not be cut off.” – Proverbs 23:18
Please join us on this 30 day journey in discovering reasons to live, love and laugh again. Reasons to be thankful for your current circumstances, and reasons to be positive about your future.
To have more impact, keep a journal of your 30 day journey. Write the verse for the day, as well as the reason to love. And if you ever feel unworthy or just plain depro, look up the verse and your own reason, and remind yourself of your great God!
Let the journey begin.
Blessings
