“Rename your brothers ‘God’s Somebody’, and rename your sisters ‘All mercy’.” – Hosea 2:1 (Message Bible)
“Say to your brethren, Ammi (You are My people), and to your sisters, Ruhamah (You have been pitied and have obtained mercy).” – Hosea 2:1 (Amplified)
In God’s eyes we are all somebody. He calls us His children, His people, His beloved bride! He shows the same mercy towards the rich, the poor, the homeless, the politician and the pastor. How do we treat the people around us? How do you treat your family? How do you treat the homeless person sitting next to the road? How do you treat the rich, and how do you treat the poor? What do you say about the politician with strange political views, and compare that with the respect you show towards church leaders?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for Your kind reminder that we are all somebody in Your eyes. And thank you for reminding us that Jesus died for every living soul, and not only for believers who already know and follow You! You know how quickly I can get consumed in my own worldly thoughts, and how flawless I can act, only to justify my own words and actions. Please help me today to look at the world through Your eyes of beauty, perfection and purity. Because in the end I know that it is not about me, but all about Your love towards Your people. Amen
