“Work six days a week, but do not work on the seventh day, so that your slaves and the foreigners who work for you and even your animals can rest.” – Exodus 23:12
In the physical body, we need to rest to recharge our batteries. You are of no good use if you are in zombie mode. Make sure that you get sufficient time off, as well as enough sleep. You, your spouse and your children all deserve a revitalised you! If you read about the creation in Genesis, you will notice how God stopped every single day for a moment to admire His creation, and every time said “it was good”. We also need to take time to appreciate the beauty around us. But we can’t do it if we are always running late, always in a hurry to get to work, always in a hurry to get back home, and always too busy to just stop and pause for a moment, to breathe in the fresh air and just ‘feel’ God around us.
Prayer: If your life is too hurried and if it always feel like your world is spinning, ask God to show you how you can slow things down. Or if your life is calm, and your husband is the one who is way too busy, pray to God to change the heart of your husband, to show him how important time off is. And if you are in the fortunate position where your life is calm with enough time in every day, just praise God today for filling your life with His peace.
Journal entry: Write down things that are consuming too much time in your life / husband’s life. Write down possible solutions (even if these solutions can’t be implemented immediately). Pray about this & speak life!
