“Someone else said, ‘I will follow you, sir; but first let me go and say goodbye to my family.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Anyone who starts to plough and then keeps looking back is of no use to the Kingdom of God.’” – Luke 9:61, 62
“He said to them, ‘There is a large harvest, but few workers to gather it in. Pray to the owner of the harvest that he will send out workers to gather in his harvest.’” Luke 10:2
We need to become the workers who will gather in the harvest for God. But if we keep reflecting on our past and what we have left behind, we will plough wrong. And I’m not a farmer, but I do know that ploughing is the preparation for sowing. So if your preparation is wrong, your whole harvest will be a mess in the end. We need to ask ourselves – How do we spend our time? Because if you spend a lot of time pondering on your past, your focus will be on everything negative about yourself, instead of on everything positive about following Jesus.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help met today to let go of my past and my mistakes. And to start focusing my eyes on You Lord, and You alone. I know the enemy comes to condemn me, because the more he can remind me of my past, the less I can focus my eyes on You and Your works. But I choose today to be set free, and to live out this freedom, and to become a worker for You Lord. Amen
