“Now God, don’t hold out on me, don’t hold back Your passion. Your love and truth are all that keeps me together. When troubles ganged up on me, a mob of sins past counting, I was so swamped by guilt I couldn’t see my way clear. More guilt in my heart than hair on my head, so heavy the guilt that my heart gave out.” – Psalm 40:11-12
Why is it that the enemy condemns us so easily, and make us feel guilty about everything we once did, everything we are currently doing, and everything we haven’t even done yet? And why do we fall so easily for all the lies? From a heart that loves and cares for us, Jesus paid the price. We just need to make this a definite truth in our lives. And we need to know that sin blinds us (that is why the enemy reminds us of it), but that God’s mercy and forgiveness will help us to see clearly.
Prayer: Dear God, on days that the guilt is more than the love in my heart, please help me to see clearly. And please remind me that I am good enough for You! Because I know that the moment I fall victim to condemnation, I can no longer keep my eyes focused on You Lord. I am a good enough mother / grandmother, a good enough spouse, a good enough friend, and a good enough sister. I am complete. Because I am the daughter of a King! Thank you for Your forgiveness and Your love. Amen
