Acts 2:14, 22 “Then Peter stood up with the other eleven apostles and in a loud voice began to speak to the crowd: ‘Fellow-Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, listen to me and let me tell you what this means. Listen to these words, fellow-Israelites! Jesus of Nazareth was a man whose divine authority was clearly proven to you by all the miracles and wonders which God performed through Him.” |
This is clearly a more spiritually mature Peter acting here, if you compare it with the fisherman he used to be. Do you sometimes wish that you can mature quicker spiritually? And do you sometimes admire other spiritually mature people around you. If you think about Peter’s journey, you will realize that this only happened after he spent three years directly next to Jesus. So maybe you should give yourself time, trust me you will get there if you just persevere!
Prayer: Ask God for patience to mature spiritually, instead of becoming despondent. If you commit and enjoy the growth experience, you will very quickly start to see the change within yourself.
Spiritual growth: Don’t give up on your growth! Ask a spiritually (more) mature person today about their path of accepting God and growing in faith, to have some inspiration. You will notice that it takes time for everyone!
