Two and a half years ago I fled my Egypt. We packed our belongings and left the old as we knew it without even a glance back. God said to trust Him. He will go before me and fight for me. He did. In the past years we've been in our wilderness. Going back and forth, not having anyplace to really call home. Still trusting God, He said He will provide. He did.
We have prayed, asked, prayed, cried, prayed and trusted God through every step in our wilderness. Then God said it's time to move into our Promise Land. Suddenly I understood full well what the Israelite's felt when they were on the boundary of their Promise Land: fear. Deuteronomy 1:28 "Where can we go up? Our brethren have discouraged our hearts, saying, “The people are greater and taller than we; the cities are great and fortified up to heaven; moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakim there.” I think when praying and waiting for something for a very long time, the sudden reality of it feels surreal and your mind battles to get used to it. and fear finds a crack to climb into your heart.
Two and a half years of waiting suddenly became 3 weeks, then 2, counted down to 1... and last Friday we were blessed to move into our promise land. With abundance provided from God's hand. I don't know what I've really been afraid of. God promised to protect and provide for us and if He did so all this time, why would He stop now?
Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
When we unlocked the door to our house the very first time, I experienced a serenity as we entered our Promise Land, and I felt the Holy Spirit say: "Welcome Home"
Shalom, Shalom
