I draw pictures for a living. Yes, I know it sounds a lot more fun when stated that way. But being a Graphic Artist also has it positive and negative career trademarks. These past few weeks where mayhem as deadline after deadline landed on my desk. But I love what I do and living out my talents.
I was just about to start a new job card and in setting up my work space in the design software, I did something wrong and the canvas area was black. I sat staring at the black screen for a while, wondering what I have done. I tried to figure it out, this never happened before? And after a while I decided to just click Undo. Suddenly, the work space was white again and I started designing away. But the functionality of the Undo button stuck in my head.
As I was playing with the "Undo" idea in my head, I thought, isn't this exactly what Jesus does for us? When we decide to kneel at the Cross, accepting Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, His blood by the new covenant cleanses us that we stand before God as white as snow. A brand new, unblemished, white as snow canvas. Ready for the Designer to create beauty.
Isaiah 1:18 "“Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool."
But we are human and we are far from perfect, (I know I am far from perfect!) even-though we strive to be perfect in Christ. We make mistakes. But when we do, we repent our sins to God and we are transformed to our former state of "whiteness" in His eyes. Back to the brand new, unblemished, white as snow canvas. The big UNDO button was clicked. So this UNDO button for me is the Grace we receive through the Blood of Christ Jesus. Truth be told, I want to grow spiritually in God, have a Christlike thinking and live as close to the Biblical principles because I do not want to misuse my UNDO's. Jesus paid a very high price for me to have it.
I want to ask you today, if you look at your life, can you truly say that you are a brand new, unblemished, white as snow canvas?
