Yesterday I had the opportunity to celebrate Youth Day with my family. But this is not my blood family. These radical and unique individuals are the family I asked God for. A family of brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus whom share a like-minded thinking. I'm used to being told I'm weird or the odd one out. But God gave me a Mishpachah....
I have been very lonely for a long time in my life. Although I have my blood family, I still yearned for a group of people I could belong to where I fit in. God gave me this word "Mishpachah" which is Hebrew for family, clan, kin. I understood that it's a word describing a blood related family group. However, I still prayed that I might have the opportunity to understand this in practice.
A lot changed over the last 3 years in my life, all with the Hand of God right there guiding me all the way. I had a great group of people whom God specifically chose to be in my life, and as I was looking at the crazy bunch just being themselves, I realized: I had a Mishpachah! Though they aren't blood related brothers and sisters, I love them more than that. I realized it's not the blood of physical family that drew me close to them, but the Blood of Jesus Christ. Luke 8:21 "But He answered and said to them, “My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.”
We should all be working together in the Body of Christ as brothers and sisters. And love each other through the Blood of Christ Jesus whom bounds us together in the Kingdom of our Heavenly Father.
Today I want to tell you, who are lonely and feel that you have not a soul in this world that cares, that I'm praying for a Misshpachah for you too. A family bonded by the Blood and Love of Jesus.
Shalom, shalom
