“And Simon Peter and those who were with him followed Him.” ~Mark 1:36
As we journey through the first books of the New Testament, we get to learn more about Peter’s personality and the changes he had to undergo to grow spiritually. The starting point of his ministry is a rather strange one, as Jesus immediately changes his name to Cephus (Aramaic) or Peter (Greek), shortly after meeting him. God knows that it is sometimes necessary to change your identity to be able to change your future. And what a great future God planned for Peter! Jesus promised to make him a fisher of men. And because our faithful Father always gives in abundance more than what our human minds will ever be able to comprehend, Peter went from fisherman, to the cornerstone on which God built His church!
Please accompany us on this 30 day devotional where we will follow the life of Peter, and get to learn more about his personality, the mistakes he made, and the path he had to walk to get to the fulfillment of the promise Jesus made on that very first day they met. Maybe you can still remember a prophetic word you received after you accepted Jesus, and maybe you are wondering why it is not fulfilled yet? Or maybe you just don’t understand why you need to go through so many trials and tribulations in your life? Or maybe you just want to rest at the feet of Jesus, and indulge in His peace and love? Remember that there is potential in all of us, not only Peter. And God knows your potential, so be patient and endure, because God is preparing you for something much bigger than what you will ever be able to imagine!
